Art in the Park
Art in the Park attracts close to 100 local, national and international artists, photographers, and sculptors. No wonder then that over 1600 friends and visitors gather here, annually, to celebrate the wide range of art, and to partake in a fun-filled day.

Chincoteague Pony Swim
Since 1925, the round-up of wild ponies for their annual swim, from Assateague Island over to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Virginia's Eastern Shore, now attracts some 40,000 visitors. Although the swim lasts only about 3 minutes, it does not deter the volunteer firemen who round up the ponies. After the swim, the ponies rest for a few days before the foals are auctioned off to buyers from all across the nation. The firemen then guide the ponies back across the channel to Assateague.

The Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival, an annual event since 1993, is an unforgettable afternoon of food, fun, festivities, and Shore hospitality. Highlights include: Shore cooking, local arts, music and entertainment. While the menu changes each year, it normally includes favorites such as: clam chowder, chili, pork barbecue, sweet potato biscuits with country ham, crab cakes, corn on the cob, sweet potato pie, French fries, and soft crab sandwiches.

The Birding Festival
Since 1993, the Birding Festival has been an annual event that showcases the Eastern Shore as Virginia’s birding nucleus. The area provides an outstanding, opportunity for novice and experienced bird watchers, to witness astonishing numbers and species of migratory birds congregating and preparing for their flight to warmer climes.
